ABHAS - in Sanskrit means brilliance and stands for Action beyond Help And Support. It was registered, as a public charitable trust in October 2002, with an aim to promote the rights of children and adolescents by creating greater opportunities for them to enjoy better quality of life. Today ABHAS works to reduce gender disparity in education and reaches out to more than 6000 urban disadvantaged children through its various educational initiatives.

Peoples participation and child centered approach is integral to all programs of ABHAS. Its strength lies in mobilizing communities and building linkages with Government schools and functionaries to ensure the child’s right to education. More...
